Houston drafts a quarterback?!

Yep. Why not?

Tom Savage was a disaster last year versus Indianapolis before getting injured and spending the rest of the year watching Case Keenum return to his college hometown to throw touchdowns all day to Andre Johnson.

Savage has never appeared to be a promising project, at least we could experiment here with someone new. Someone who has experience playing under center and running complicited offensive schemes at Alabama. Someone who likes throwing deep ball after deep ball to wide receiver Amari Cooper.

If Blake Sims is still available for selection in the seventh round, I dare you to come up with a better way to use Houston’s final draft pick.

It’d be the perfect parting gift to a stellar draft and a much more interesting offseason, ripe with inner-team competition at nearly every position.
