3. DeVante Parker (Pick 7-16) – Louisville
Parker is the top ranked wide receiver on my list that has a chance to fall to 16th overall. There is not a receiver in this class that can track down a ball better than Parker. He constantly was able to keep his feet in bounds after snagging jump balls that only a handful of players can reach.
The Louisville alum looks like AJ Green on tape because they both have the tall and lean physique. His arm length is at the top of his class and size translates well. They both showcase their ability to dominate in the red zone, but Parker doesn’t have the break away speed like AJ Green has to make him truly elite. That being said, Parker is still better than all players listed below and the Texans can’t expect to find elite NFL talent in the middle of the order.
DeVante Parker is the best fit out of any wide receiver that has a chance at being available for Houston because he excels were DeAndre Hopkins and Cecil Shorts do not. Hopkins and Shorts aren’t tall or lengthy, and both haven’t proven to be a 10-12 touchdown receiver like Parker expects to be. Texans fans need to hope that DeVante Parker falls past the Vikings, Browns, Saints, and Dolphins.
