2. Amari Cooper (Pick 4-10) – Alabama

Amari Cooper’s combine results were not exceptional but they did solidify him as a top 10 selection. The main reason is because Amari’s best skills do not translate into top of the line combine results. His route running skills are by far the best in this NFL class and he has a high football IQ but neither of these skills can be measured statistically.

He has proven to beat double coverages because his combination of speed and route running causes safeties and corners to second guess his route. He is able to track down deep passes after flying by defenders because he is light on his feet. Amari Cooper also has the leaping ability to score countless touchdowns in the Red Zone. The most intriguing aspect of Amari’s game is his versatility.

Similar to Antonio Brown, Amari Cooper can run the deep routes, can play the slot, catch screen passes, and all intermediate patterns. He will be used all over the field and is the safest bet to be a WR1 in this class. However, he as well will not be available for the Texans, so hopefully he lands on a team in the NFC.
