What went wrong for the Texans?

3. Bill O’Brien

This is a tough one, how do rate a first time head coach that took a 2-14 team to a near play off appearance with a 9-7 finish as a bad thing? See above. Despite his reputation as a quarterback guru and hard charging personality O’Brien was risk adverse in the draft, chose poorly for his starting quarterback and went a terrible 1-5 on challenges for the season. With tendency’s to call runs on 3rd and long, a terrible sweep play in his own end zone that resulted in a safety made fans question O’Brien’s decision to skip on a dedicated offensive coordinator. O’Brien has a lot of big decisions coming up this off season, if he chooses poorly again at quarterback 2015 could end like the 2014 season, close but no cigar.
