The NFL regular season is already underway with the Seattle Seahawks defeating the Green Bay Packers, 36-16 on their Thursday Night celebration in Seattle as their officially raised their Super Bowl champion banner.

Let’s just say this … the Seahawks look better than they did last season, so that news should be scary for the entire NFL, especially those who have to face the Seahawks in ’14.

Luckily for the Houston Texans, they won’t see the Seahawks this season. Whew.

Now as we look forward to the Texans upcoming game on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (noon CT) against the Washington Redskins (airing on FOX) is a good and winnable matchup for the Texans, because it isn’t like the Redskins are a a great team in the NFL. In fact, I think both teams match up well.

This game will be really competitive, especially with both defenses, but I believe the Texans’ defense will be the reason they win by three points on Sunday against the visitors.

I know picking the Texans to win in the regular season might be a tough sell, especially coming off a 14-loss (all consecutive) ’13 season, but this is a new year and there is some new hope as well. How much hope … that is the question.

Thoughts?
