The third quarter finally saw an appearance of backup quarterback Case Keenum, but the results still weren’t there for the Houston Texans offense, as they were held scoreless for a third straight quarter.

As for Keenum, he was 3-of-5 for 29 yards in the third.

Alfred Blue moved his game starts up to five carries for 30 yards and two receptions for 14 yards.

Uzoma Nwachukwu had a reception for 15 yards.

The offense of the Texans looks like a team that is still learning an offense and running it for the first time, so Texans fans shouldn’t be sweating bullets after their performance for the first three quarters.

Joe Adams did have a fumble for the Texans, but he recovered it.

I did think Keenum would have done better than what he did in the third frame, but he is playing with backup players, so who really knows how much he has improved this offseason.

Thus far, even though I said there is no reason to be “sweating bullets,” I can say the Texans’ performance in the third quarter – in fact, the first three quarters – has left me uninspired and not that excited.

Though it is still early in the preseason, I hope for the Texans’ sake they (the first and second team players) play a little better next week.

Thoughts?
