There is at least one goal Houston Texans rookie outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney has for the upcoming season. The goal … to sack Indianapolis Colts quarterback and AFC South rival Andrew Luck.
The No. 1 overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft, Clowney made his goal public on Rookie Confidential.
The USA Today quoted Clowney in an article, writing:
"“My goal in the NFL is to sack Andrew Luck. He’s in my division, [we play] him two times a year, he’s a dangerous quarterback, he makes good decisions with the ball, so I just want to get after him and sack him one time.”"
Sacking Luck, also a former No. 1 overall selection, should be a big goal of Clowney’s, but I hope it is his goal every week to sack the opposing QB.

This offseason, Clowney has sports hernia surgery, but I hope this first year Clowney is either going to make a big impact with his own stats or make an impact by freeing up his teammates so they are able to produce on the field.
I’m curious how much more better the presence of Clowney will make J.J. Watt, who already has one NFL Defensive Player of the Year award to his credit.
The defense of the Texans should be really fun to watch, and as training camp nears, what I want to see during the camps and preseason is just how this new defensive unit gels by the start of Week 1.
As for Clowney, my prediction is he sacks Luck more than once this season.
