The biggest news the past few days for the Houston Texans is the fact they were able to sign No. 1 overall selection Jadeveon Clowney to a multiyear deal and all camps seems to be pleased with his deal of just over $21 million guaranteed.
Who wouldn’t be?
As for what now matters for the Texans is they wrapped up the second week of offseason OTAs and there is still no sign of Andre Johnson, and I don’t think there will be anytime soon.
As for those who are at the OTAs, CSN Houston wrote the following about the quarterbacks of the Texans:
"“The quarterbacks are progressing at the pace the coaches have hoped for and several position battles are coming into focus.”"
I like that … not just with the quarterbacks progressing, but the competition within the team, because there wasn’t much of that going on last season … and it showed as they were the worst team in the entire NFL.

The third and final week of these OTAs begin on Monday, and there should be more to come from these practices as it will be the last time the Texans will be on the field before actual training camp I believe.
Remember with this team, especially under first-year head coach Bill O’Brien … competition will not only be a good thing, but a very good thing.
