The Houston Chronicle is reporting that No. 1 overall selection Jadeveon Clowney and the Houston Texans have agreed to a contract.

NFL.com wrote:

"“Clowney on Friday reportedly agreed to terms with the team that made him the first overall pick in last month’s draft, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. McClain notes that Clowney gets $22.272 million guaranteed, including a $14.518 million signing bonus.”"

This is a great deal for both parties, especially Clowney with the over $14 million signing bonus, plus the $25 million guaranteed cash.

The length of the contract is said to be four years (with a fifth year option), but I can’t wait to see him, and how he plays by J.J. Watt and Brian Cushing.

I believe the Texans will be a Top 5 defense this season, if and that is a big question mark, they all an stay healthy. If we can watch this defense stay healthy all season it will be a sight to watch.

Clowney this past season, his junior year, has 28 solo tackles (40 total) with three sacks.

His sophomore season was the “breakout season” as he recorded 54 total tackles. Forty of those tackles were solo, plus he has 23.5 tackles for loss. Clowney also has 13 tackles that season.

I can’t wait to see how he progresses this offseason working with Watt. It should be exciting to say the least, and after what happened last season, that’s all we can really ask for.
