Houston Texans Roundup (5/23)

facebooktwitterreddit

We’ve made it to Friday and all we know about wide receiver Andre Johnson and the Houston Texans is they’ve talked and everyone is still frustrated to a point.

I see why Johnson is frustrated as he’s only been to the playoffs twice in his career, plus though he’s never said it, the quarterback situation of the Texans isn’t that great right now either.

But we’ll all have to wait and see what happens there as the offseason progresses.

ESPN Texans reporter Tania Ganguli wrote the best move by the Texans this offseason was drafting defensive end/outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney with the No. 1 overall selection.

She wrote in her ESPN.com article:

"“He’ll help the Texans’ pass rush, and they’ll use him in a hybrid fashion, beginning at outside linebacker, that will best suit his talents.”"

That will be very fun to watch to see how long it takes Clowney to really breakout in the NFl, but he’ll have a lot of help in the front seven so all the pressure won’t all be on him from the start.

Another “best” offseason move by the Texans in my book was the hiring of new head coach Bill O’Brien. He’ll help bring the offense around, eventually.
