Report: Johnny Manziel’s family wants Texans to pass on QB

Sport Illustrated’s Don Banks wrote that the family of Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel doesn’t want the Houston Texans to draft him.

Banks wrote in his article:

"“Manziel’s family is not rooting for Houston to be his NFL home, believing that staying in Texas will make his already challenging transition to professional football that much more challenging.”"

That does make a lot of sense, but I don’t understand why they would be saying this, because if the Texans do make Manziel their next quarterback, it would have to be some type of awkwardness with his family and the franchise.

What team will draft Johnny Manziel?

If I were Manziel, I’d ask them all to kindly stop talking to reporters, to those who are close to the media, and let the chips fall wherever they may.

That could be with the Texans, the Cleveland Browns or anywhere else.

  • My prediction is the Browns select Manziel with their No. 4 overall pick, because he would bring a lot to that struggling franchise, and he would give them a shot to maybe bring some life back to that franchise.

If he does end up with the Texans, I don’t believe anymore pressure could be added to what will already be a pressure-packed situation as it is, you know, being an NFL quarterback and all.
