Week 3: at New York Giants
Sunday, Sept. 21, 1 p.m. ET

This will be a big test for the Texans in 2014, because there is no way I can see the Giants playing as poorly they did at the start of the season as they did last year.

During the offseason thus far the Giants have added Josh Freeman as a backup QB, Mario Manningham at wide receiver, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie at cornerback and others to help improve their team and get back to the playoffs.

For the Texans to even think about winning this game, they will have to have pressure on Eli Manning with hopefully an improved pass rush, plus the defensive backs will have to play better than last season.

I think the signing of Chris Clemons to the defensive backfield this offseason will end up being a big move by the Texans. The team will also need improved play from D.J. Swearinger, Kareem Jackson and the rest of the defensive backs. They are better than they played last season.

This will be the toughest game to date for the ’14 Texans, and on the road at a tough stadium for the visitors.

Quote:

"“It’s unprecedented, the percentage of change in this locker room. Those of us who are still here are excited for the start of a new season, but obviously it’s changed a lot.” — New York Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka on the changes of the Giants this offseason via giants.com."

Prediction: Giants win.
