There hasn’t been a lot of action when it comes to the Houston Texans’ offseason lately, but there is still plenty to talk about.
On Monday ESPN.com reviewed the Texans’ free agency period thus far, which hasn’t been much.
Tania Ganguli wrote about the best signing, with not many signings to pick from:
"“(Garrett) Graham is the only player the Texans have signed during the new league year. They let him test the market for a few days before reaching a three-year deal worth $11.25 million last week.”"
Maybe the Texans will make some more signing later this week, but unless they trade Matt Schaub, I don’t expect a lot to happen.
In other Texans news:
• Here is an article on Teddy Bridgewater‘s pro day from CSN Houston.
• The Houston Chronicle on their Ultimate Texans Blog had an article where they had local collegiate defensive coordinators go over film of the top QBs in the draft, as they’ve faced them this past season at the collegiate level.
The article quotes Houston defensive coordinator David Gibbs, saying about Blake Bortles and Teddy Bridgewater:
"“I see two safe picks. … I don’t see the bust,” said Gibbs, who served as the Texans’ defensive backs coach from 2009-10.”"
Bortles and Bridgewater are the top two QBs in the draft, and the only two QBs the Texans should think about using their No. 1 overall selection on. If they don’t select either of these QBs No. 1, then they should should just wait and select a QB later in the draft.
