NFL.com is reporting that former Louisville quarterback and potential first-round pick Teddy Bridgewater didn’t have the best of days dung his pro day workout for 29 NFL teams on Monday.
In the article, it quotes NFL.com Draft Analyst Mike Mayock as saying the following:
"“Bridgewater’s workout was ‘average at best.’ Mayock said he saw ‘a lot of flutters, a lot of inaccuracy.'”"
That can’t be good for Bridgewater, as at one time he was said to be the best quarterback in the draft, and I honestly believe he still is the best QB in this draft as we get slowly closer to the May 8 NFL Draft.
The article also said Blake Bortles of UCF will hold his pro day in two days.
Former NFL Super Bowl champion QB Kurt Warner also was quoted in the article, saying:
"“Warner said Bridgewater had problems with his weight transfer, which led to some poor throws.”"
The closer we get to the draft, the less I feel the Houston Texans are going to take a QB with the No. 1 overall selection, but as of right now, none of us can correctly guess who the Texans will select.
The article said Texans head coach Bill O’Brien was at the pro day workout.
Since I didn’t see the pro day workout by Bridgewater, I can’t comment on that session, but from his final season with Louisville I thought he played well and was even clutch at times.
That’s what the Texans need … they need a player under center that is clutch, because they lacked that last season.
