Greetings Texans Fans!

As expected the first day of Free Agency saw Earl Mitchell move on to a new team. I wish him nothing but the best on his new team. I enjoyed watching him this past season and think he’ll have success with the Miami Dolphins.

Antonio Smith is shopping his services around, this is a shame but not unexpected. As a fan, one cannot imagine the Texans without the “Ninja”, however with all the changes coming to the Texans and my belief that Jadeveon Clowney is in fact the Texans choice atop the draft well, I wish Antonio well where ever he goes. Unless he’s playing us of course!

The big surprise was the release of Owen Daniels. While it’s not a huge shock what with the rise of Garret Graham moving Daniels makes sense. He’s made it clear he wants to start and while having both Daniels and Graham would be nice youth wins out on this one.  Speaking of players released, the much maligned Brice McCain is now on the market. Not sure what team will pick him up, but I’m sure he’ll be on a field somewhere come the start of the season in a back up role.

The big news Texans fans are waiting for is, will Matt Schaub be released. One would think they’d go ahead and release him sooner rather then later, but I suppose waiting for the Draft makes sense. Personally if they do release him it’s not fair to keep him on the hook. Let him seek a new team sooner rather then later. He’s earned that much. On the quarterback front there is noise about Josh McCown paying Reliant a visit. I’m not really sure I see much coming from this. Not that I have anything against the man, it just doesn’t really seem like a move that makes sense at this time.
