Round 4
Terrence Brooks, FS, Florida State
The Texans really need some help at free safety, and Terrence Brooks could be a really good value if still remaining in the early stages of the fourth round.
He’s projected to be selected in the third or fourth round. He stands at 5-11 and weighs 200 pounds, but even without the great height of most NFL-bound players, he is said to “look the part of an NFL free safety.”
He’s previously played cornerback, and it says in his CBS draft analysis that he is a “big-hitter who seems to enjoy the physicality of the game. Flashes strong hands for the interception … Good special teams player.”
So not only could he boost the Texans defensive backfield, but he could help a special teams unit that struggled this past season.
He’s been timed with a 4.53 40-yard dash.
