Round 3

Ja’Wuan James, OT, Tennessee

If the Texans want to keep their new QB upright and healthy, then they are going to need a better offensive tackle to play opposite of Duane Brown, and James could be that guy.

He’s the 10th-rated OT in the draft, according to CBS, and to get a player of that caliber in the third round could be a big deal for the struggling Texans squad.

James is 6-6, 318 pounds and is described as having the ability to “the ability to slide to protect the edge against the variety of speed rushers he has faced in the SEC.”

Like all players, he does have some weaknesses, with Rob Rang saying: “When he drops his head, he can be beaten with a swim move over the top. This occurs most often while run blocking.”

Luckily, all of that can be fixed with good NFL coaching, and if the Texans would go offensive line on Day 2 of the draft, James could be their guy.
