The final game of Wild Card weekend was everything I expected it to be. The game had a close ending with the 49ers winning on a last second field goal by Phil Dawson to send the 49ers to the divisional round was a great way to end the weekend.

If this weekend proved anything it was having a veteran kicker in cold weather is a good weapon to have.

As for the victorious 49ers, Colin Kaepernick had a good day in their 2-degree weather with a 16-of-30 day for 227 yards, one TD and one interception. Oh, by the way, the QB also rushed for 98 yards in seven carries, including one of 42 yards.

Aaron Rodgers, in his second game back, didn’t have as good of a game as he did last week, going 17-of-26 for 177 yards and one touchdown.

What I liked about this game was seeing these players brave the elements at the highest competitive level and it was old-school football, which I love to watch.

This game didn’t disappoint and I can’t wait to watch the 49ers play at Carolina next weekend.
