With the Houston Texans having already played on Thursday, a 27-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, there are still plenty of quality football games to watch in Week 14, with one being the Indianapolis Colts at the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Bengals vs. Colts has playoff seeding implications with the Bengals (8-4) entering the game with a two-game lead over the Baltimore Ravens (6-6) in the AFC North with four game left on the schedule.
The Colts (8-4) have a three-game lead over the Tennessee Titans (5-7) and have all but sealed up the AFC South.
Game time temperature for this game will be around 28 degrees, but will feel like 17 degrees, which can’t be a good thing for the Colts as they are accustomed to playing game indoors. The weather could be an advantage for the Bengals, but not much of one.
Detroit at Philadelphia is another early game that grabs my interest as both of these teams are battling for playoff spots.
The Lions (7-5) have a one-game lead in the NFC North entering this game, and the Eagles are tied with the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL East at 7-5 overall. The Bears (6-6) host the Cowboys (7-5) on Monday night.
The Lions and Eagles game looks like it could be an offensive showdown with Nick Foles vs. Matthew Stafford, with Stafford having Calvin Johnson on his side. Should be a fun game and I see the advantage going to the Lions, but just slightly.
Is it safe to say the Kansas City Chiefs (9-3) are playing in a “must-win” game against the Washington Redskins (3-9) today?
The late afternoon game that I want to see is the Seattle Seahawks (11-1) at the San Francisco 49ers (8-4). I believe if the Seahawks win this one they will be champions of the NFC West, and I’ll pick them to have the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC once the regualar season is over.
I just wonder how many times Fox will say “The Legion of Boom” when mentioning the Seahawks’ defense today? It won’t be as nearly as many times as ESPN said the nickname on Monday night.
The Sunday night game should be the best game of the day with the Carolina Panthers against the New Orleans Saints, as each are 9-3, tied for first place in the NFC South. I can’t wait for Drew Brees vs. Cam Newton on Sunday Night Football. The Saints are my pick in this one.
As for Monday Night Football, as mentioned earlier, this game has a lot of playoff implications on the line and for a MNF matchup it, the Bears vs. Cowboys has some meaning and will be played in a temperature of around 20 degrees.
Here are my predictions for Week 14:
– Ravens over Vikings
– Bengals over Colts
– Packers over Falcons
– Patriots over Browns
– Raiders over Jets
– Lions over Eagles
– Steelers over Dolphins
– Buccaneers over Bills
– Chiefs over Redskins
– Broncos over Titans
– Cardinals over Rams
– Chargers over Giants
– Seahawks over 49ers
– Saints over Panthers
– Cowboys over Bears
