Wade Phillips
Texans interim head coach/defensive coordinator

Phillips deserves a look at being the head coach, but I don’t see him being the next head coach.

The plus for Phillips is he knows this team, this organization and the players. The problem is though he has a winning record as a head coach, he’s never really had any success in the postseason, and that’s what matters.

Phillips, like Smith, can coach defense, there is no doubt about that, but is he “the guy” that can lead the Texans not just back to the playoffs, but to the Super Bowl? I just don’t see it.
