While we all wait for Sunday Houston Texans game against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday, Antonio Smith admitted he made the same mistake we all did when the 2013 schedule was released. The mistake was overlooking teams and assuming wins.
In an article by Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle, Smith was quoted as saying:
"“You can’t chalk anything up. “I’ve learned that thus far in this year. I’m not going to lie: Us players do do that. … I’ve been wrong almost every one of them.”"
I like his honestly. Why wouldn’t this team before the start of the season, knowing the talent they have, not look past some teams that are on the schedule. They are human, it is going to happen. He was wrong about his assumptions, but at least he’ll admit his mistakes.
Now for the rest of the season, maybe others will overlook the Texans and they can add a few more wins to this disappointing season.
In the latest episode of the Matt Schaub saga (if there is really something like that) Brian T. Smith quoted head coach Gary Kubiak speaking about Schaub’s situation:
"“I feel a great deal for him. It’s hard for me, too, because of what he’s done and what’s gone on at this place with he and I working, from that standpoint.”"
At House of Houston Yoni Pollak gives us all the updated power rankings for the Texans, as they have no ranking higher than 28 and one ranking has them at 32nd. Read the article here.
