As the Houston Texans prepare for their home game against AFC South rival Jacksonville, Tuesday was one of the more quiet days in recent memory in terms of news breaking.
With that said, there was still plenty to talk and read about.
The Houston Chronicle had a post on their Ultimate Texans blog about how the Texans still have a slim shot at making the playoffs.
The post states:
"“According to the website MakeNFLPlayoffs.com, the Texans have a 0.7 percent chance of reaching the playoffs for a third straight season.”"
I’m not going to lie, that stat made me laugh a little bit. Basically, there is no chance. Here is a link to the playoff prediction site.
Over at ESPN.com, Tania Ganguli wrote about how Ben Tate’s teammates have felt his pain. One player Ganguli quoted was offensive lineman Wade Smith, who played with broken ribs last season.
Smith said in the article:
"“Every play is painful but you can recover from it.”"
Also on ESPN, Ganguli wrote about how Owen Daniels wants Texans fans to be smart. Daniels was quoted as saying:
"“We want smart fans in the building. We want people who are going to be quiet when we’re on offense and loud when we’re on defense … They paid the money to show their emotions and their opinions on what’s going on during the game, but it wasn’t about them at that point.”"
