Nothing is ever boring when it comes to the 2013 Houston Texans, unless it is the play calling. I’m kidding … sort of. Tuesday was another one of those “exciting” days for the Texans as they released free safety Ed Reed and put starting running back Arian Foster on the IR list, officially ending his season.
On the official Houston Texans site, Drew Daugherty wrote about both transactions that occurred, Tuesday. In his article he wrote:
"“Tuesday afternoon saw a disappointing end to the 2013 Texans’ campaign for a pair of high-profile players.”"
Daugherty wrote in another article with the headline, “Brian Cushing will be ‘100 percent’ early in 2014,” quoting Cushing as saying:
"“I think January, February, I’ll be a hundred percent. This is quite a different deal than last year.”"
Tania Ganguli of ESPN wrote an article saying the Texans admitted a mistake when they released Ed Reed. The article is a good read for Texans fans. Her article stated:
"“Reed never bought into the idea that his limited role was best for the team. He began to express his frustrations after the Texans’ 27-24 loss to the Colts, claiming it was the first time since his sophomore year of college in which he didn’t start despite being healthy.”"
In a sideshow by the Houston Chronicle, they compared quarterback Case Keenum the other QBs following their first three starts.
