Greetings Texans Fans!

Time to celebrate!  Kubiak made a smart move, he sat Schaub down and gave the reins to the young gun Mr. Case Keenum who earned the chance with an inspired start.  We’ll find out if it was luck or a sign of things to come.

Let us also thank Matt Schaub for all he’s done, this isn’t how anyone wanted to see his time end, but end it has. I wish Schaub had gone out with a ring saying “Texans” but it isn’t to be. Speaking of endings, it’s time for another end in Houston. The end of of Joe Marciano’s time as the Texans Special Team Coach.

Here’s a quick recap of his failures. Jacoby Jones, Trindon Holliday and Keeshawn Martin. One could argue Jones was having issues and a change of scenery was in order, but there is no excuse for Holliday or even Martin. Three strikes in a row, how many more before he’s gone? Why does he still have a job? Seriously, if I’m the opposing head coach, I tell my kicker to aim for the 2 yard line so the Texans will try to take it out. I also tell my return guys “Never kneel”. Realistically, he’s going no where, the time to send him away was right after the KC game, but since that hasn’t happened I guess we’re stuck with Joe Fail for the rest of the season. Pity.

In other news the Texans have reached out and plucked some running backs to bolster the backfield. After watching how close they came to pulling off the upset in KC it seems Kubiak is not going to be without a running back ever again. Probably a good thing. These guys are getting a shot to prove they are worth the effort, I hope they make the most of it. Deji Karim was passed over for Cierre Wood… karma? We shall see.

Regardless of the drama llama visiting Houston, the team is holding together well. Professionalism is a hallmark of this team and it shows. Schaub has been classy through the whole affair. It’s got to burn being benched, but he’s not lashing out. The locker room feels for him, but are focusing on the positive instead of bemoaning the negative. This gives one hope that maybe magical run can come out this. Stranger things have happened, can’t wait to see how it pans out!
