How do you feel the 49ers have recovered since the fallout with the Aldon Smith situation? How has it affected the team?
So far, so good for the Niners defense. Although it’s only been one game that Smith has missed. Backups Dan Skuta and Corey Lemonier did well filling in last week. Starting outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks has stepped up as well, and the Niners’ defense will continue to rely on him to get pressure on the quarterback with Smith gone.
The situation has had not a big affect on the team other than Smith not being in the starting lineup and on the field each week. The team misses his talents, but they understand it’s next man up when a teammate is out for whatever reason. All of the coaches and players know Smith is dealing with personal struggles, so him getting better is more important than him being with the team.
