The weather is cooling down, the leaves are starting to turn and the greatest time of the year is about to begin.

Week 1 of the NFL season starts Sunday (for most teams), and it’s the beginning of a beautiful thing.

We get this sweet sugary treat at the end of each week with Sundays chalk-full of games.

Starting this weekend, we get five months of bliss with NFL Sundays. This means the start of fantasy football and friendly or not-so-friendly competition with your friends and family.

Fantasy football is filled with smack talk, decisions on who to start and sit, and we all know that suspense will cause a mental breakdown to the savviest owners.

To make things easier for some of you fantasy footballers, I’m going to be submitting my weekly Studs and Duds to help ease the weekly tension in creating your weekly lineup.

I have been playing fantasy football avidly for the last decade, and I understand how nerve-racking a start-sit decision can be. I think I have subtracted five to 10 years off my life from the pressure I put on myself from trying to maximize my lineup each week.

Think of this weekly column as a way to decrease your weekly stress and possibly expanding your lifespan.
