The NFL schedule was officially released just minutes ago, and even though certain games managed to leak out earlier than expected, we now know the Houston Texans will be travelling to San Diego in Week 1 of the regular season.

In terms of excitement, this match up isn’t as big as a division rivalry, and probably won’t be the biggest talking point of the week. But after Chargers safety Eric Weddle told reporters yesterday that he thinks the Chargers are the ‘best team in the league‘, there will be some serious proving grounds for San Diego to back up their talk with a win.
The Texans haven’t played the Chargers since Week 9 of the 2010 regular season, a game in which Philip Rivers threw for 295-yards, and lead his team to a 29-23 victory at Reliant Stadium. Chances are this time around, the game will be equally as close.
As for the rest of the schedule, here’s what the Texans look forward to:
Week 2 – vs. Tennessee Titans
Week 3 – at Baltimore Ravens
Week 4 – vs. Seattle Seahawks
Week 5 – at San Francisco 49ers
Week 6 – vs. St. Louis Rams
Week 7 – at Kansas City Chiefs
Week 8 – *Bye*
Week 9 – vs. Indianapolis Colts
Week 10 – at Arizona Cardinals
Week 11 – vs. Oakland Raiders
Week 12 – vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 13 – vs. New England Patriots
Week 14 – at Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 15 – at Indianapolis Colts
Week 16 – vs. Denver Broncos
Week 17 – at Tennessee Titans
