NFL News & Texans Running Back Arian Foster in National Spotlight
By Joe Owens
Many fans will be holding their annual fantasy football drafts in the next few weeks. This is a very exciting time for many fans of the game. Not only is the fantasy football draft season upon us but the first preseason game is quickly approaching as well.
A couple of quick notes that could affect drafts and soon to be played preseason games.
Detroit Lions rookie running back Mikel Leshoure tore his left Achilles tendon on Monday, ending his season before it began.
With first round pick Nick Fairley having recent foot surgery, Detroit’s surperb draft isn’t looking so superb any longer.
Ricky Williams passed his pyhsical on Tuesday and practiced with his new Baltimore Ravne teammates today.
While we are not expecing Williams to make a major fantasy impact if Ray Rice happens to go down due to injury that situation could all change. Be sure to handcuff Ricky Williams to Ray Rice in all formats.
After Houston Texans Arian Foster’s recent hamstring strain and still not practicing during todays training camp. Foster did make the national news spotlight with a story published yesterday by the USA Today. But don’t fret Texans fans.
The 6-1, 230-pounder, who thrived in the Texans’ one-cut, zone-blocking scheme, concealed a torn meniscus in his knee during his incredible season. He got hurt again Friday, tweaking a hamstring. He is out indefinitely but it all seems to be precautionary.
The doubters, Foster said, always will lurk.
