Latest NFL News Rumors on Nnamdi Asomugha, Likely Not Headed to Houston

facebooktwitterreddit

Even after “The General” John McClain stated yesterday on twitter, “I never thought the Texans would even be in the running for Asomugha because of cap situation. They’ll have to get very creative.”, there still seemed to be skepticism among the Houston fanbase.

The statement by “the General” and other sports media personalities  seemed to insinuate to Houston Texans fans, who are keeping up with free agency moves that involve the Texans, that Nnamdi Asomugha was within reach for the team. Several sporting news outlets reported the Texans being one of three teams in the race to land Asomugha.

The other two teams reportedly involved amongst the trio along with the Texans are the San Francisco 49ers and the favorite to land Asomugha’s services New York Jets.

We apologize Houston fans but Nnamdi Asomugha ending up in Houston seems to be more and more of a pipe dream. We know, we know. This breaks out hearts also.

This morning on Sirius XM NFL Radio on the Morning Kickoff show it was reported that Nnamdi Asomugha wants to play for the New York Jets and Coach Rex Ryan, who seems to be the next generation Bill Parcells. Claims were made that lead one to believe that just as the players of the New York Jets love playing for Coach Ryan, Asomugha also wants to play for Ryan for the exact same reasons.

As if to add salt to the wounds of the Houston Texans fans and compound the ire of Texans fans if the team is unable to land Asomugha. Sirius XM NFL radio also reports that Nnamdi Asomugha wants to play in New York so badly that Asomugha is willing to take less money as if to ease the burden of the New York Jets Capologist -Key the sarcasm- who seems to have been a very busy bee over the past two NFL business days.

Along with the rumors Asomugha is willing to play for less. It’s also rumored that Asomugha is wanting to land in a market that may assist in a career after football and it seems Asomugha’s passion is acting/television. A major market such as New York would provide a far better opportunity than Houston would if Asomugha does in fact want to perfect the on air talents.

This morning we even took the liberty to tweet the rumor in regads to what we had heard and then tried to confirm the rumor via Adam Schefter. No response has been issued as of the publishing of this post.

If all this is the case and Nnamdi Asomugha and the New York Jets are merely awaiting Friday’s time frame for actually signing free agents to announce the deal then the Texans need to have a cornerback-up plan.
