Division Rival Titans’ Receiver Arrested Yet Again.
By Joe Owens
Just as recently as April the 12th of this year Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was arrested after a car chase through his hometown of Bayonne. And as recently as last night Britt was arrested yet again by Hoboken, N.J., narcotics officers. Britt was charged with two counts of resisting arrest just one day after pleading guilty to careless driving back on April 12th.
The complaint says Britt “did purposely prevent or attempt to prevent a public servant from lawfully performing an official function by means of force or violence, specifically by refusing to open your hand when ordered to do so then pulling your hand away.”
Just as it was looking like Kenny Britt would be able to return to the team and not face any type of suspension once the Lockout was lifted after charges of eluding the police, hindering apprehension, and obstructing a governmental function had been reduced to a mere careless driving charge.
At this rate Britt could soon be taking his game to the prison yards of the New Jersey Penal System and leaving the Titans with what is already a very depleted receiving core especially with the unlikely return of free agent Randy Moss. The Titans although not exactly admitting to being a classic rebuilding project looks to be well on the way to just that. Look for the Tennessee Titans to end up in the bottom 3rd or 4th of this upcoming years power rankings.
UPDATE: The most recent The complaint alledges that Britt had a hand rolled cigar leaf “containing suspected marijuana” and he broke it with his “hand and therefore making it unavailable to the investigating officers.”
