Houston Texans, Arian Foster Running Up the Recognition

Entering into the 2009 preseason, Houston Texans fans would have been hard pressed to find Arian Foster on any lists other than the list of Texans practice squad players.

Foster went undrafted in 2009 but signed with the Houston Texans on May 1st, 2009 as an undrafted free agent. Foster was even released by the Texans later that September only to clear waivers and sign to Houston’s practice squad. Foster made the active roster in November of 2009 and has never looked back.

Running up projection lists, positional power rankings lists and the lot, Foster has been on a steady climb toward the apex of those lists since his record breaking performance during the first game of the 2010 season against the division rival Indianapolis Colts. And Foster’s assault on the analysts lists and charts don’t seem to becoming to an end any time soon. The only thing that may prevent Arian Foster from dominating projection lists and stat sheets could be an NFL imposed lockout itself.

Former New York Jets Director of Player Administration and current CNNSI contributor Pat Kirwan recently released his Running the Show: Runningback Rankings on NFL.com where Kirwan writes as a senior analyst.

As you read Kirwan’s comments keep in mind that Pat does his rankings by a tier system and within each tier assigns them alphabetically and not by a numerical value. As you will see Houston Texans running back and 2010 NFL rushing leader is amongst Pat Kirwan’s top five. Pat Kirwan’s opinion is respected amongst the NFL community as he is a host on SiriusXM NFL Radio’s Movin the Chains.

Look for Arian Foster and the Houston Texans to rebound this year and quite possibly end up on the NFL’s AFC playoff list this next year. Now that would be a list worth the read.
