The Houston Texans will be without rookie safety K.J. Dillon for the rest of the season, and cornerback Kevin Johnson could miss the remainder of the year as well

Not all the news was good for the Houston Texans following their amazing comeback victory on Sunday Night Football. They defeated the Indianapolis Colts, but suffered a couple of injuries in the secondary in the process.

Rookie K.J. Dillon was injured during the game, and the news on Monday wasn’t good. The fifth-round pick suffered a torn ACL on Sunday night according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Dillon played mostly on special teams but was the primary backup at safety with Corey Moore starting in place of an injured Quintin Demps. He recorded one special teams tackle on the night.

No one can question Dillon’s toughness as he came back into the game after suffering a knee injury. That was before he realized the severity of his injury.

A bigger loss however will be second-year cornerback Kevin Johnson. The first round pick last season out of Wake Forest, Johnson has been a fixture since day one in the team’s nickel package.

The team may be without him for the remainder of the year as well, although that has not yet been confirmed. Again Aaron Wilson reported the injury to Johnson, saying that he suffered a broken foot.

The Texans pass defense has been outstanding this season and Johnson has been a huge reason why.

Wilson reported that Johnson started at left corner for Houston in their overtime win and missed just one snap as he played through the injury. He was extremely effective but was noticeably limping following the game.

The 6-foot Johnson weighs 185 pounds and is known for his technique and tough nature. He has 25 tackles on the season.
