Texans release depth chart for first preseason game by Houstontexans.com

"The Houston Texans open their 2016 preseason schedule on the road against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Aug. 14. Kickoff at Levi’s Stadium is set for 6 p.m. CT.Houston has completed over a week of training camp and will travel to Santa Clara, Calif. on Thursday to conduct a joint practice with the 49ers on Aug. 12"

What I am surprised at is that Will Fuller is listed as third string. I know he might have had some problems in camp, but they need his deep speed going forward so he won’t stay down for long. Devon Still is listed as a starter opposite J.J. Watt (who is hurt and will make way for Christian Covington to start in his place) and Quintin Demps is listed as the starting strong safety. Keep both of those in mind.

Randy Moss mentors DeAndre Hopkins by Sarah Barshop, ESPN

"Moss was a guest of Texans head coach Bill O’Brien, who Moss knows well from his days in New England, where O’Brien was the quarterbacks coach for almost four years.Though Moss was in town to talk to the whole receiving group, he spent a lot of time working with Hopkins, including some one-on-one time at the beginning of practice when Moss was animatedly giving pointers to the young receiver."

This can only be helpful for the young Texans star, and hopefully he can have some tips to pass onto the younger receivers.

Former lineman carves out role at fullback by Mark Inabinett, AL.com

"“Playing fullback is fun. In high school, I was a hard-nosed guy playing offensive line. I love to block. I’m not an offensive lineman anymore, but I’m an active blocker. Fullbacks have to have that downhill mentality. I was a perfect fit for fullback.”"

It’s good to have a fullback on the roster. Having a lead blocker for Lamar Miller can help the Texans exploit the run defenses within the division.
