With Duane Brown out the rest of the season, the Texans have brought in Andrew McDonald for some insurance along the offensive line.

Brown tore his right quadriceps tendon against the Jaguars on Sunday, which was a huge blow for the Texans as they take on the Chiefs this Saturday in their first postseason game since the 2012 season. Chris Clark will start on the left side and Derek Newton, who struggled in recent weeks, will be on the right as usual. But if something should happen to either of them, it leaves the rookie out of Appalachian State Kendall Lamm and third year tackle Oday Aboushi along with McDonald left.

McDonald is what you would call a journeyman. He has been in the league for four seasons and the Texans will be his seventh team. This season alone he has been on the Browns and Chargers before coming to the Texans. He entered the league with the Dolphins in 2012 and has also been on the Panthers, Colts and Seahawks. He has appeared in two games during his time in the NFL, both in Seattle during the 2014 season. I would be nothing short of surprised if McDonald saw the field or perhaps even dressed for the game, but he is here and at the very least can provide depth.
