Houston Texans linebacker Jadeveon Clowney has had some tough breaks since entering the NFL last May after being selected with the first overall pick in the draft.

On the field the pass rusher has struggled to stay healthy as he has only played in four games thus far. Knee surgery ended his rookie season early and he has yet to reach full health, though the team is hopeful he will practice in a couple of weeks.

Off the field he was in the news when former Houston and South Carolina teammate D.J. Swearinger‘s dog bit Clowney sending him to the ER.

Now some sad news has been reported which affects Clowney as his father, David Morgan, has been charged for attempted murder in South Carolina on Tuesday.

"Rock Hill Police Department Capt. Mark Bollinger said David Morgan also was charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Morgan is in custody and awaiting a bond hearing, Bollinger said. The police report said Morgan, nicknamed “Chilli Bean,” was removed from the strip club for sitting on the stage. Police added that he was seen later at the back of the property before firing several rounds at victim Braxton Homesley. Police say Homesley returned fire."

Not surprisingly Clowney is upset by the news according to reports. Here is to wishing for the best outcome possible for the young man as he deals with such an unfortunate situation.
