Report: Houston Texans Declined Trade For Peyton Manning This Offseason

facebooktwitterreddit

According to Benjamin Allbright of Denver’s 94.1 AM radio, the Denver Broncos have been offering future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning to the Houston Texans. After being released by the Indianapolis Colts, Peyton Manning was considering signing with the Texans but they were uninterested at the time due to major neck injury concerns. Manning had a remarkable season two years ago and was still elite last year despite a quad injury that plagued the last portion of his season.

The Texans had an opportunity to trade for Peyton this offseason according to multiple reports. Neither team has responded to Benjamin Allbright who has appeared on ESPN, Fox Sports, and Yahoo! for NFL related news but is expecting a response once teams return to facilities tomorrow. Keep in mind this report dropped after teams usually leave the facilities.

The Broncos could want to move forward with Brock Osweiler at quarterback and a young defensive core in 2015 despite being a title contender. This would be surprising but plausible if John Elway wants to “rebuild”.

There has been no indication on what the Texans were willing to give up for Peyton Manning or if they were interested at all. Adding Peyton Manning would immediately put the Texans in Super Bowl contention with a top five running back, defense, and of course the Sheriff.

Keep in mind this is all unofficial reports and more will come out in the very near future. Stay updated at torotimes.com and subscribe below.
