Let us take a look back at Sunday’s romp in Nashville that put the Texans 4-4 on the season. After a three game losing streak the pre-kickoff fear of a loss to the lowly Titans seemed a real possibility. Fortunately, despite not having Brian Cushing and a subpar day for Fitzpatrick in terms of pocket awareness the Texans easily rolled to a 30-16 victory. After the game fans were left wondering why they worried, that’s how good the offense no scratch that, how good Arian Foster looked.

The Greatness

Arian Foster rushed for a 4th 100 yard plus game on 20 carries for 151 yards. He made it look too easy as he danced across the field while dodging Titans defenders. It almost looked like a choreographed play rather then a live event. Topping things off with 2 rushing touchdowns and passing touchdown Foster put in a good days work. On the otherside of the ball, J.J. Watt was J.J. Watt and the Titans found themselves lacking the ability to stop Watt’s drive for League MVP. I’d say more, but really… it was another day at the office for Watt, 2 sacks, a strip sack to go with another batted pass. Ya know, all around awesomeness.

The Good

Despite being beaten a few times deep the defense really didn’t give up anything. D.J. Swearinger jumped a poorly considered pass for a nice interception and all in all the defense played well. Even those 16 points were mostly just garbage points late in the game when the only ones who cared were wearing Titan uniforms. Did they even care at that point? Don’t know, don’t matter. The Texans managed running, passing and defensive success for most of the game. A win, even over a hapless team is still a win.

The Ugly

Five, sacks. Yes, not one or two but five times Fitzpatrick was unable to get rid of the ball or scamper away. The Titans front 7 had a field day making him pay for holding on to the ball too long. Thankfully this failure to perform did not lead to disaster as had been the case in previous games. For those hoping that Mallett or Savage get the next start it’s just not going to happen. Fitzpatrick played well enough to stay the starter. Also, his beard threatened Bill O’Brien with terrible death should he be so brazen as replace Fitzpatrick.
