The Texans have good news, Jadeveon Clowney is on tap to return for Monday Night Football It will be a good thing for the Texans defense. Clowney brings a threat to the defense that so far Brooks Reed not Whitney Mercilus have achieved. We got a glimpse of what could be against the Redskins, the possibilities for mayhem are greatly increased. J.J. Watt might just be the best player in all of football, however if Clowney can be as good as promised in terms of pass rushing the Texans defense will be the scary monster we all thought was possible when the Texans drafted him.

Don’t expect to see Clowney in every snap, in fact I’d be shocked if he played more then 25-30 snaps. Like Cushing, they’ll take it slow. Better to work up to full time then to break him again. Fans are leery of a player, wearing #90 who has spent the majority of his time as a Texans injured. I expect that by the Cleveland game on November 16th Clowney should be back to full football speed. Watching the dynamics of Watt and Clowney attacking the quarterback is something we all want to see.  Granted, there is the possibility that he might not return Monday, injuries are fickle beasts, however there is every indication that he will.

More from Houston Texans News

The other good news for the Monday Night match up is the rest time for the Texans that they sorely need. While Arian Foster is no fan of the Thursday night games, this break of a Thursday to Monday certainly is good for the team. The coaches have a lot of things to fix, after two too close loses. Chief among those is the lack of offense for the first 15 minutes of each game. Perhaps the offense should scrimmage out on the practice field a few times before the game starts? I kid, but only just so.
