According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapport, the Houston Texans are hosting both Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, Monday.

This is a huge and very important day for the Texans, as I believe they are narrowing down their list of potential prospects for the No. 1 overall pick for the 2014 NFL Draft.

In his article about the visits, Rapport reported:

"“That the Texans are bringing Manziel in just more than two weeks before the draft can only be a good sign for the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner.”"

Here is a tweet by Rapport on the visits to Houston today:

He is right, I would love to be a “fly on the wall” in those meetings today well. How fun would it be to see how these two players interact with the no-nonsense type of coaches have in both head coach Bill O’Brien and even for Clowney, defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel?

Both of these players are talented, so the Texans do have a tough decision ahead of them, but as I’ve written a lot lately … the Texans need to focus on their defense with this No. 1 overall pick, and then look at who is available at quarterback.

This is a new age and even a new day for the Texans as they “rebuild” or “restructure” the roster of players who finished 2-14 one season ago, so I’m interested in seeing what happens following these two visits and if we learn anything from the visits.
