CBSSports.com has reported that Houston Texans fans were burning a Matt Schaub jersey following the 23-20 overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Sunday at a postgame tailgate.
The loss put the Texans at 2-2 overall, and moved the Seahawks to 4-0 this season.
Would I burn a jersey of the starting quarterback? No, I wouldn’t, but that is the great thing about sports … if a fan wants to burn or destroy their own property, and it happens to be a jersey, so be it.
Good for them if it makes them happy. I know I’ve broken a few things in my lifetime over sports. It happens.
Schaub made some really bad decisions in the loss, including the interception for a touchdown with a few minutes left in regulation, tying the score at 20-20.
So it’s safe to say Schaub’s play the past few weeks, and even years, have Texans fans to an all-time boiling point. Right? It sure seems like it.
So how many others destroyed their Schaub merchandise Sunday? I’m guess this isn’t an isolated case of a flaming Schaub jersey.
What does everyone feel the Texans need to improve headed into Week 5? My guess is there needs to be a lot of better decision making from not only their quarterback, but from the coaching staff as well.
