Greetings fellow Texans fans,

Let’s talk Texans Training Camp. The biggest question right now isn’t the returning injured players. No it’s how fast will DeAndre Hopkins earn the trust of Matt Schaub. NFL Soothsayers expect big things from “Nuk”, but big things don’t happen for wide receivers if their QB isn’t looking their way. As much good as Matt Schaub is, he has a tendency to look to Johnson when the pressure is on and other teams know it.

Of course, we all want to know if Cushing can return to full power, ready to command the troops in the huddle. Mentally, not worried. It’s his knee that has to respond to the challenge. I can only imagine how eager he is to step back onto the field. Cheerleading from the sidelines doesn’t suit him.

The biggest hurdle is going to be Gary Kubiak. It’s time for him to evolve the offense into something less predictable. He’s got a lot of young raw talent to complement the core. This off season hasn’t been just about players recovering from injury or the O-Line settling out. It’s about how Kubiak moves the team forward. Obviously we won’t know till that first series in San Diego but heres hoping he let’s it all hang out. He won’t survive another one and out in the playoffs.

Finally, for you faithful fans, I’m the new writer here at Toro Times. All I’m going to say is hang on it’s gonna be a heck’va ride this season and I’ll be there for you with the rest of the staff to bring you the latest news, insight and opinions on our beloved Texans as the season unfolds. Looking forward to this as much as ya’ll are!
