UPDATE: Andre Johnson had his finger examined and then was taken for a ride on a cart to the dressing room for a more thorough exam. Results came back negative. It seems a crisis was narrowly averted. Johnson only suffered a dislocated finger and should be back for the afternoon practice. Houston, we can all breath a collective sigh of relief. Andre Johnson will sit out the afternoon walk through as a precautionary measure.

Per Anna-Megan Raley of blogs.chron.com “WR Andre Johnson was carted off the field. He was holding his hand. I’ll get an update to you asap.”

Apparently Johnson was bumped after colliding with rookie CB Roc Carmichael. Johnson came down on his hand going for the ball and then got up shaking his hand and pulling on a finger.

Not sure why Johnson would need to be carted off for a hand injury unless it’s very serious. We will keep the readership posted as we hear any updates.

Safety Glover Quin tells the media,  “I feel natural (at safety). I feel like that’s what I was born to do…Right now I’m actually working at strong safety.”

Second round pick Brandon Harris is making enough plays that his presence can no longer be ignored.

Many guys out sick today including Wade Smith. Brian Cushing sat out again today with an ice bag on his knee the majority of the time.

Brooks Reed said his head is moving 5 thousand miles per hour out there on the practice field trying to learn everything.

Rookie DE J.J. Watt thinks he has overcome the flood of information and expectations. “I really don’t think I’m swimming,” he said. “We had a good couple of days before camp opened to get seasoned with the playbook and get with the coaches. These past couple of days, I’ve been working very hard to have my assignments down.”
