The Houston Texans got a huge win against their division rival, the Jacksonville Jaguars, which gives the Texans a tie-breaker over them for now. The division is certainly up for grabs too. The Jaguars were expected to repeat as division champs; however, they have not looked like champs this season and are floundering.

There is still a lot of season remaining and anything can happen. Including the Houston Texans taking the top spot. C.J Stroud and the Texans are beginning to figure out there passing game, and if the offensive line can get healthy, the running game should improve too.

Then there is the defensive side of the ball too, with a number of injuries going into the Jags game, yet despite missing key players, the Texans defense held Jacksonville to just 17 points. Houston is getting some impressive contributions from a number of rookies too, such as Stroud, Dell and also Henry To'oTo'o has played well too. But let's get into the current AFC South standings and see where the Texans sit.

1 - Indianapolis Colts (2 - 1)

I don't think anyone saw this coming from the Colts but so far, they are playing well, and rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson looks like he may be further in his development than some expected. The Colts haven't had arguably their best player on the field yet either, with Jonathan Taylor.

The Colts own the tie breaker over the Texans with their head-to-head win against Houston but they have the loss against Jacksonville in Week One. That first game, the Colts were leading heading into the fourth quarter, but Jacksonville got back into the game and stole the win.

2 - Houston Texans (1 - 2)

At the beginning of the season, I predicted the Texans would win eight games, which would be a vast improvement over a season ago. I also didn't believe a wildcard would come out of the AFC South. I am starting to reconsider both predictions. The Texans are playing good football, and their passing game with C.J. Stroud is on fire right now.

Houston's defense is getting it together too, despite the injuries on that side of the ball. The Texans next five games are against the Steelers, Falcons, Saints, Panthers and Buccaneers. While those aren't going to be easy, they are all certainly winnable games and three of them are home.

3 - Jacksonville Jaguars (1 - 2)

Jacksonville started off the season with a win but had to come from behind against the Colts to get it. In Week Two, they had the misfortune of going up against the defending Super Bowl champs, Kansas City. The Jaguars played ok in that game and only last 17 - 9 but could not get their offense going.

They had the same issue against the Houston Texans too. The Jaguars offense is struggling, having scored only 26 points over the last two games. Jacksonville is a talented team though and the light bulb could go on at any time, similar to what we saw from them last season down the stretch.

4 - Tennessee Titans (1 - 2)

Seeing the Titans at the bottom makes me happy. I've been saying all offseason that the Titans won't be a very good team this season. Derek Henry has a ton of wear and tear on his body and he's past that proverbial 28-year-old wall for running backs.

I would be surprised to see Ryan Tannehill getting benched at some point this season and the Titans getting Will Levis on the field. They have scored only 45 points through three games but to their credit, they've also allowed the fewest points of the teams in the AFC South. But in this league, if you can't score more than 14 points a game, you won't win much.
