Houston Texans: Kayvon Webster set to return from IR

The Houston Texans have announced that defensive back veteran Kayvon Webster is designated to return from the IR.

The Houston Texans are bringing back veteran defensive back Kayvon Webster to the active roster after he was placed on the IR for a quadriceps injury. Webster was signed in the preseason to reinforce the secondary but he was still working his way back into football shape after tearing his Achilles the season prior playing with the Los Angeles Rams.

Webster made his awaited debut with the Texans in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys but he didn’t play much after getting hurt early in the first half. The Texans ended up preferring to activate Webster over cornerbacks Kevin Johnson and rookie Jermaine Kelly Jr. Webster is the second and final player that is set to return from IR after the Texans brought back inside linebacker Dylan Cole a couple of weeks ago. Webster will be in the process of practicing again as the team activated the three-week window to see where he is from a physical standpoint.

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported the transaction via his official Twitter account.

The Texans secondary is beginning to get a little crowded as the Texans now have Johnathan Joseph and Shareece Wright as the boundary cornerbacks and Kareem Jackson as the slot cornerback. Webster would join Aaron Colvin and Johnson Bademosi as the reserve cornerbacks.

The Texans also have Deante Burton on the roster but he has yet to see any action with the team since being from the Atlanta Falcons practice squad during the bye week. A move is pending whenever the team decides to activate Webster to the active roster.
