Houston Texans: The Good, Bad and Ugly – Running Backs

The Good – In The Good scenario Lamar Miller will remove all doubt about his three down back ability. He will consistently flash the game breaking talent that torched the Texans last year.
My expectation is that Miller will be good, but his lack of use by the Dolphins tempers that expectation. Did they discover something about his make-up or skill set that disqualified him as a true feature back? If they believed in his skills but their plan was to leave plenty of tread on the tires for 2016 and beyond it was a good plan…for the Texans.
All the Texans need for the running back group to overachieve is for Lamar Miller to be outstanding. But Tyler Ervin is much better than the typical 4th round draft pick, and Akeem Hunt showed flashes last year indicating much potential. Ervin and Hunt can assist in moving this position group forward.
With the expected solid offensive line play this group could be special exceeding even the high expectations that were considered in my 10-6 prediction. 11-5 is very reachable if this group achieves The Good.
