Lovie Smith,
former Super Bowl coach with the Chicago Bears

I felt Lovie should have never been fired by the Chicago Bears, but that is a moot point. Smith would be great for the defense of this team, because right now the “highly ranked” defense isn’t living up to their billing.

Smith took a Bears team to the Super Bowl with a team that relied heavily on their defense (his QBs were Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton), and the Texans have some nice pieces for Smith to work with, including defensive end J.J. Watt.

I like Smith as a head coach, but I still haven’t decided if he’s the type of coach the Texans are looking for.
