Texans select Texas RB D’Onta Foreman in the 3rd Round
The Houston Texans decided to get current starting running back Lamar Miler some help by drafting D’Onta Foreman.
The Texans have slected Texas running back D’Onta Foreman in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft.
This is a great pick for Houston who need to decrease the workload of running back Lamar Miller’s heading into 2017.
Foreman can spell Miller as he develops into their potential starter down the road.
Foreman put up huge numbers for the Longhorns last season as he rushed for 2,028 yards and 15 touchdowns. He will be a nice compliment to Miller as a power runner.

We really learned about Foreman’s character in 2016 after his premature son passed away less than two months after being born after developing an infection.
The amazing thing is that after finding out his son passed, Foreman rushed for 341 yards and three touchdowns against Texas Tech.
Foreman and his girlfriend are now expecting another child.
Here’s what Foreman’s NFL.com draft profile says:
"Former three-star recruit who turned that a chip on his shoulder into a 2,000-yard junior season. Foreman has outstanding foot quickness and wiggle for a back his size, but will need to run behind his pads and with more aggression on the next level. Teams could be split on his draft value as some may covet his size and athleticism while others will be concerned about a lack of third down value. Ultimately he has the talent to be a good NFL starter, but he’s still a work in progress."
Foreman is compared to Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart. That’s not bad at all.
