Will the Houston Texans make a bold move and trade up for a quarterback in tonight’s NFL draft?

This is very interesting.

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports has the Texans trading up to acquire the 11th overall pick from the New Orleans Saints  in order to take Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

"Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech. Houston can’t afford to just sit back and hope a quarterback gets to them with the 25th pick. They don’t have that luxury after the abomination that was The Brock Lobster experiment. And they need to jump the Cards to get their pick of the remaining passers. I’m playing a hunch and going Mahomes here, but it could easily be Watson."

It’s ironic that La Canfora has the Texans moving up to 11 because I just wrote an article and pointed out that it would take Houston parting with their first, second and third round picks this year as well as first and third round picks next year in order to move up that high.

My guess is that La Canfora didn’t look into what it would take for Houston to move up because I have a hard time believing the Texans will give up what it takes to move to 11.

Now Peter King of The MMQB has the Texans moving up to 17, which is a lot more realistic and feasible.

Comment below and let us know whether you believe the Texans will trade up in the first round.
