Mitchell Trubisky to the Houston Texans will take a miracle.

I’ll be honest.

I’m starting to have my doubts when it comes to whether or not the Texans will be able to grab a quarterback in the first round.  I’m afraid there won’t be one on the board worth taking and they’ll instead have to grab someone like Josh Dobbs in the second round.

Matt Verderame of FanSided has released his latest NFL mock draft and he has the Texans landing North Carolina quarterback Mitchel Trubisky with the 25th overall pick.

Here’s a portion of what Verderame wrote:

"Trubisky comes with his own set of concerns, but he has a chance to develop into a franchise quarterback. The former Tar Heels star only started one season in Chapel Hill, but showed enough to put him into the first round. Trubisky has the size, arm strength and athleticism to check plenty of boxes, but will his lack of experience hurt him moving forward? The Texans do provide him with a solid supporting cast, although the offensive line is a sieve. If Houston wants to compete for a Super Bowl, the time to find a long-term answer at quarterback is now."

Even though Trubisky only started one season in college, there’s a chance he could be ready to start for the Texans at some point during the 2017 season if Tom Savage were to struggle or get injured. Neither would be a surprise.

Verderame’s mock is really a dream scenario for the Texans because he doesn’t have a quarterback being  taken until the Arizona Cardinals at pick 13.  He has them going with Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

I honestly have a hard time believing that not one single quarterback will not be taken within the top 10.

I know that none of the quarterbacks in this year’s class are worthy of a top 10 pick, but NFL teams always reach for signal-callers.

Comment below.  Do you think Trubisky will fall to the Texans? Would you want Houston to draft him?
