Houston Texans checking out Deshone Kizer, Malik Hooker at their pro days.

Two of the offseasons biggest pro days are on Thursday when Notre Dame and Ohio State show off their top NFL prospects.

The Houston Texans are expected to be attendance in Columbus and South Bend, according to Jeff Risdon of Texans Wire.

I’m sure the Texans will have their eye on Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer, who could be an option when they’re on the clock with the 25th overall pick. He could also go as high as the top 10.

Kizer will have a chance to impress NFL scouts and front office executives after an unimpressive performance at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Here’s what NFL.com’s scouting report says about Kizer:

"Big quarterback with a big arm. Can make all of the throws. Has step and crank power to drive throws into the seams. Has the arm talent and willingness to challenge safeties on both intermediate and deep throws. Looks the part with thick frame to withstand NFL punishment. Over the top delivery creates tight spirals. Has powerful grip allowing for aggressive pump fakes to move defense around. When he’s comfortable, will tie feet with his eyes as he scans the field. Adequate drive accuracy. If he feels a completion is imminent, he’ll stand in and take a punishing shot. Strong, authoritative runner with the speed to hit a big play with his feet. Two-way threat in the red zone. Posted 18 rushing touchdowns over last two seasons."

Other Irish players the Texans will likely have their eyes on are defensive tackle Jarron Jones, and outside linebacker James Onwualu as they look to replace both Vince Wilfork and John Simon.

When it comes to the Buckeyes’ pro day, safety Malik Hooker is the top player that is expected to be drafted high in the first round. I’m sure the Texans are interested in Hooker as well as cornerback Gareon Conley who’s also expected to be taken on day one.

The downside for Hooker is that he will not participate in the pro day workouts after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum.

Ohio State Cornerback Marshon Lattimore also will not workout after suffering an injury at the combine last month.
